The Via Francigena begins at Canterbury Cathedral
The Via Francigena pilgrimage to Rome begins at Canterbury Cathedral. And, this sacred pilgrim destination is steeped in the history of saints, villains, heroes and legends. But, the pilgrimage is based on a journey to Rome by Archbishop Sigeric in 990 AD. However, the story of Archbishop Sigeric is only one aspect of this marvellous place. Most importantly, the zero km milestone marks the beginning of a 1900 km lengthy journey to Rome!
